Dear Bohemians.

Young, talented and enthusiastic Brewmaster Matěj Křížek from Břevnov Monastery Brewery, one of the oldest micro‘s in the Czech Republic, has joined Bohem on 1st March.

At High School he gained his Maturita certificate, similar to A-Levels, in Food Technology, specialising in brewing beer. Upon joining Břevnov, Matěj brewed all the different styles but found he was particularly excited by lagers.

This then became his area of specialism and so he began looking for a brewery devoted to his passion and that also satisfied his desire to work abroad. Once he had met with the team from Bohem it was clear that he loved our lagers, as much as we recognised his abilities, and so we hope it proves to be a perfect fit for both parties when he joins the business.

He will work directly with our Head Brewer Petr Skoček. Together with the current move to much larger premises and the forthcoming arrival of our new bespoke Czech built BrewHouse this all demonstrates Bohem’s unwavering commitment to brewing the lagers that London deserves to be drinking.

We believe that people are the key asset of any business and therefore Matěj will be able to share success of the brewery in the future by participating in an employee share-ownership plan and he will, of course, be paid the London Living Wage.

We very much welcome Matěj to Bohem and hope you look forward to drinking his beers as much as we do.
